The Story of the Ankh

I understand that the Ankh is to be a reference to the ol' Ultima Days (ah the days of PK Defense) but is there a reference somewhere to the origin of the Anhk within the Land of Novia?

 

If you read between the lines it's not hard to accept New Britannia is the same land. The survivors of the cataclysm would still know of the Ankh, as well as the Outlanders who may have visited Britannia before and are now visiting New Britannia.

 

Thanks @LoneStranger, I was curious if there was more to it than that. For example, are we resurrected because of a certain reason? Why are Outlanders/Avatars brought back to life and not others? Is the Oracle responsible for our life force? Something like that...

 

These kinds of answers may only be answered as we progress through the game story.
