That's right. Kingsport has a cool name but is rather unspectacular.

 

Why, it is easy enough to head to Owls Head. Kingsport is just that a Port, doesn't need any more than it has

 

Kingsport will be a great place for someone to set up a crafting palvaion and vendors.

 

I asked why Kingsport was so run down. The answer was because it's run down in the storyline. Don't expect it to change any time soon.

 

Well to me its not much of a city....it is just a shipping /transportation port. So i wouldnt expect too much.....and i think with the story arch of the bandits and smugglers causing some buildings to be boarded up and such it will change. Who knows.

 

Why? I hate when every town has everything you need. Not every town/city should have a blacksmith.

 

It is funny how members of communities are fighting to keep their spot important and prevent others from rising. When in July more and more new players will enter the scene this will get out of hands.

 

It's even easier to go to Ardoris via the ferry, and it's only one scene load. Then you take the boatman right to the square.

 

Wait...what do you mean by this?

 

There are boatmen dotted around Ardoris, talk to them and they will teleport to another boatmen at that location.

 

GASP! How have I played almost every release and not known this?!?!

 

They appeared in release 20, though I've just looked and didn't see them in the player instructions, maybe an oversight @DarkStarr. The first boatmen can be met to the right of the bridge entering Ardoris standing in front of a boat sign and a small boat on the riverside.

this is RIGHT, because... Kingsport is very FAR from the SWAMPS... from the DEEP RAVENSWOOD.... from GREYMARK and NO ONE needs REPAIR KITS
probably i will never enter kingsport , this is a B-SERIES city .. .this is OWL SUPREMACY ... wow , what a lot of players on SOTA... in OWL there are a LOT OF PLAYER every day

right, right, can i suggest (just to speed up the 3d engine) to REMOVE the REAGENT SELLER? (this is only a port) ... or mages don't like this? (are you a mage?)

i don't have any house.. and for me Kingsport.. can fall down to the ocean now. ...i write the post because: yesterday i told a newbye to visit kingsport (near the forest) to search a REPAIR KIT... and after a while.. this poor newbye come to ME without the REPAIR KIT asking for another place to find IT

you are right on this.. but maybe the vendor for a specific items (reagents, repair kits... and i think nothing else) can be placed in EVERY CITY in a different place (very far from the entering spot in some cases) ... the OWL blacksmith is very far from the "SHOPPING ZONE" and this is a nice thing... but maybe on Kingsport.. the Blacksmith can be on "SHOPPING ZONE" and the REAGENT SELLER CAN BE VERY FAR from this point (but i dont' think that these 2 type of vendors can't be at the same time.. THIS IS NOT REALISTIC)

i understand that SOLTOWN.... and other small-cities maybe are looking good without any type of confort... but a PORT????? from the beginning of HISTORY ports are always been full of all kinds of resources

 

I was thinking that about gunshops when visiting the south states 2 years ago. Seems we both got disapointed

 

You should start a New Britannian Uber.

 

It'll be interesting what NPC's/vendors show up in the PRT 2.0 scenes. Repair kits, Fuel for all crafts, that kind of stuff. If it's less than what's available in Ardoris, I don't think they'll be quite as popular as desired.
I guess all of us have the fallback position of crafting out of our banks in Ardoris.

 

Agree that each town should lack certain NPC-selling resources (blacksmith, fishmonger, agriculture, reagents, etc). Cities should have at least one of every NPC tho, even if "the blacksmith kind of sucks in City XYZ, he doesnt sell hand axes!"

 

Kingsport has a cool name. Honestly it's a complete bore. It's like a fishing village full of nothing. Kinda a bummer for such a key area.

It's only use is regents, selling trash and back again the long run to the exit.
